The main requirement for a valve with a soft-pump function is to avoid turbulence when opening the valve to prevent negative impacts on the production process, such as particle release. Additionally, rapid pressure changes due to high differential pressure when opening the valve can cause sudden condensation effects, which can also be detrimental. The Series 29 HV valves with soft-pump function address these issues.

The soft-pump function of the series is achieved through an adjustable aperture in the closing disk, with an adjustment wheel on the valve cover allowing fine-tuning of the effect. The adjustment wheel has 11 position markings that facilitate easy, precise adjustment as well as simple resetting. These markings enhance reproducibility and make it easy to duplicate settings on other valves.

Tested in thousands of demanding applications under various process conditions, the Series 29.0 has proven its excellent “soft” performance. A positive side effect of the soft-pump function is the reduction or elimination of impulse noise, leading to a quieter production and operating environment.
